Senior Electrical Design Engineer
This Company is a developer and manufacturer of complex electro-mechanical instrumentation for the textile industry. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer works in the Research and Development of instrumentation including architectural definition, circuit design, PCB layout and test firmware development.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Design of instrumentation class Analog and Digital electronics utilizing operational amplifiers, FETs, BJT’s, switching and linear DC/DC supplies
  • Design of interface electronics for intelligent motors, sensors, optical detectors, illumination, and data communications, including USB and Ethernet
  • Design of complex electrical systems, made up of many electronic modules and wiring harnesses including PCs, GPUs, motors, sensors, actuators and power supplies
  • Schematic entry, PCB layout, and wiring harnesses using Altium
  • Design of interface circuits for stepper and BLDC motor control
  • Design support of legacy circuit boards and systems
  • Working with a collaborative multi-disciplined engineering team in the design and test of electro-mechanical and electro-optical instrumentation
Position Requirements
  • B.S.E.E. or higher education with minimum of ten (10) years’ work-related experience
  • Minimum of at least 5 years experience in design and test of complex analog/digital circuits, power supplies (DC/DC) and optical electronics.
  • Part selection, schematic capture, and layout of multilayer circuit boards Altium designer (preferred) or equivalent and Spice circuit analysis
  • Experience in use of change management systems for product release and support of manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong Analog design experience
  • Knowledge of linear and switch mode power supplies
  • Familiarity/working knowledge of electro-mechanical and electro-optic systems
