SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES  

The Data Architect will be responsible for developing data-centric solutions to meet business needs across the organization. This will include integrating existing siloed data infrastructure and architecting data solutions that reflect the integrated landscape. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES  
  • Contribute in the definition and implementation of data governance practices. 
  • Provide insight into the changing database storage and utilization requirements for the company and offer suggestions for solutions 
  • Analyze database implementation methods to make sure they are in line with company policies and any external regulations that may apply 
  • Create data monitoring models for each product and work with the marketing team to create models ahead of new releases  • Help maintain the integrity and security of the company database 
  • Determine database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives with clients; evaluating current systems; 
  • Develop database solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, backup, and recovery specifications. 
  • Install database systems by developing flowcharts; applying optimum access techniques; coordinating installation actions; documents actions. 
  • Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions. 
  • Provide database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems. 
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. 
  • Accomplish information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS  
  • At least 5 years of prior Data Architect experience with increasing levels of responsibility. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. 
  • Desire to maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars/workshops and benchmarking state-of the-art practices. 
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster trusting relationships with all associates, from stakeholders to team members to end users. 
  • Proven track record of driving change and execution. 
  • Influential; practiced in negotiating with others in ways that result in win-win outcomes. 
  • Proven ability to work in distributed systems 
  • Must pass a drug screen and a criminal background check
