Maintenance Manager   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Train and manage maintenance staff to achieve quality producing equipment

• Keep machinery in optimum condition to ensure quality production

• Track, maintain and inventory all shop tools and spare parts on a monthly basis.

• Complete Purchase Orders as needed

• Interview, hire, and train maintenance staff and sanitation staff

• Schedule staff to accomplish production schedule

• Analyze downtime, changeover, PM and usage reports in order to maximize quality production and limit waste

• Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement

• Confer with production managers to ensure machinery and production are coordinated to optimize quality and production

• Schedule staff to changeover machines per production schedule

• Schedule and supervise staff for sanitation

• Maintain machinery in compliance with OSHA and FDA guidelines

• Maintain and schedule outside services to include but not limited to:

        a.  Compressors/Dryers

        b.  Parts Cleaner

         c.  Dust Collection

        d.  HVAC, uniforms, fire extinguishers, building maintenance

• Inspect machinery and confer with Plant Manager on any major mechanical issues

• Supervise the installation or relocation of equipment

• Establish operational procedures for:

       a.  Changeovers

       b.  Preventative Maintenance

       c.  Packaging Processes

• Ensure all Preventative Maintenance/work orders are completed accurately and on time

• Develop an approved monthly, quarterly, and yearly budget for repair parts and inventory

• Maintain building and production rooms in compliance with OSHA and FDA guidelines

• Conduct personal reviews in a timely manner

• Handle all disciplinary issues in a professional and timely manner

• Monitor labor hours and overtime of sanitation and maintenance staffs

• Review machine capacity and make recommendations for upgrades/replacement

• Recommend automated solutions for packaging and warehouse

• Complete miscellaneous responsibilities or duties as assigned by the Plant Manager

 QUALIFICATIONS:

•  ME or EE; Five years of proven supervising and scheduling maintenance employees

•  Applicable BS degree from an accredited college a plus

•  Strong verbal and written communication skills

•  Knowledge of BOCA, NEC, OSHA, FDA regulations

•  Microsoft Office proficient including Word and Excel

•  Strong PLC skills and knowledge in electrical/mechanical systems including RS View Logic

•  AutoCad, plant layout experience

•  Ability to work well in a team atmosphere

•  Familiar with packaging equipment a plus
